3rd KAUST Library Saudi Seminar – April 17-18, 2019

Seminar’s title: Acquisitions in a Digitally Born Library: Best Practices and Challenges

Target audience: Library acquisitions staff, library directors, deans, and vice deans, senior professionals from Saudi universities & research institutions.

Seminar’s Goal:

Sharing the acquisition’s best practices as well as the challenges through addressing the various stages of handling the process and how to meet the patrons’ needs accurately & promptly.  In this seminar we’re going to exchange the experience, achievements and some useful tips with other internal and international institutions. 

Keynote Address  by Prof. Rick Anderson, Associate Dean for Collections & Scholarly Communication, Marriott Library, University of Utah, USA.

Seminar’s language: English only

Participation is by invitation only, due to logistics difficulties.

KAUST has been working with Saudi universities to enhance the collaboration between libraries in the Kingdom through exchanging knowledge and experiences for the betterment of libraries and its users.

KAUST University Library initiated the Saudi National Seminar series in October 2017 as part of its Regional Outreach activities and  two such Seminars were held successfully at KAUST.

  • First KAUST Library Saudi National Seminar on ORCID was held under International OA week celebrations. KAUST Library in collaboration with ORCID hosted the first ORCID Saudi National Workshop on 22-23 October, 2017, as part of International Open Access Week celebrations. Please read the report

 

  • Second KAUST Library Saudi National Seminar on Library as a Partner in Learning and Research took place during April 29 - 30 2018 at KAUST campus. Please read the report
