WHERE TO START YOUR SEARCH

 

You can start your search:

1. In  KORAL (KAUST Online Resource Access Layer)

2. In Google Scholar

3. Web of Science or Scopus

SEARCH TECHNIQUES

In order to search effectively, you can use different search techniques:

keyword searching: use keywords, think about key concepts and alternative terms, start with a general topic than narrow down

phrase searching:  put quotation marks around two or more words to create a search concept or phrase ( "genetic engineering" "heart attack")

truncation: replace a word ending by a symbol - $   *

Boolean operators: put Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) between search terms
