Troubleshooting Electronic Resources

Causes

  • Dead Links: Wrongly configured URL in Recommender / Best Bets
  • Misdirected links:  Link goes to different ejournal title; ebook chapter etc
  • Link resolvers not set-up properly in 360 Core
  • Wrong / Broken EJournal / EBook URL in 360 Core
  • Search results not appearing in Internet Explorer due to InPrivate Browsing settings
  • Broken or dead links due to technical glitch in PQ Ex L Link resolver

Follow up Actions

Provide information below to the library:

  • Description of the issue
  • URL of the affected site
    (For example, e-journal article link, ebook chapter link, database link and so forth)
  • Time and Date of access
  • Internet Browser used: eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera etc
  • Version of Internet Browser
  • Location access: eg On or Off campus. If on campus, ask for the exact location

Additional information:

  • Screen Capture of the error message/screen

Copying and Pasting Link in Summon

  1. In Summon result page, select the record.


     
  2. Click on Preview link:

     
  3. Click on Permanent Link:

     
  4. Click on "Copy" button. Paste the link into the desired destination.
