Information management is an essential element of the management of KAUST. It enables the University to reduce risk, improve efficiency, enhance knowledge sharing, optimize the value of its information resources, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations. It facilitates decision-making, policy development, service delivery, accountability, audit and governance.
KAUST's "University Records Policy" governs the records that support the University’s operations. The policy draws from relevant standards and best practice guidance for information management, in particular from International Standard ISO 15489, Information and Documentation – Records Management.
